Tools & Tricks

The pros in any craft move beyond theory – they develop collections of helpful tools, tricks, and techniques that make their work more productive and successful.  These videos teach practical methods for entries, exits, and everything in between.

This group includes the following Password classes:

This group cost $239 or you can purchase recordings separately, at $50 each:

How to Enter Trades using V-1 and V-2 Entry Triggers

Kerry presents his method in which price action triggers him into trades – regardless of whether he is in front of the screen or not.  He uses this technique like a traffic light and doesn’t attempt to drive thru the intersection until the light turns green.  Kerry calls his entry patterns V-1 and V-2 Combo triggers.

He says: “They do not catch every single trade, but they certainly liberate me from staring at the screen, reduce anxiety, and keep me from jumping in too soon.”

Volume Bar Charts: a Tool for Better Insight & Decisions

Successful traders often use non-traditional methods.  A "volume bar chart” differs from the rest because it uses volume instead of time on its horizontal axis.

The market doesn’t know time – it knows only volume, which reflects trading activity.  Each bar on the Volume Bar chart is marked not by the passage of time but a certain amount of volume.

Volume bars provide a unique insight into market behavior.  They can help you make better decisions, especially in short-term trading.  Kerry shows how to construct Volume Bar charts and use them to identify trading opportunities.

Personal Basket of Stocks – Filtering

The best place to look for trading opportunities is in your personal basket of stocks.  It beats endless searching, which often ends in frustration.

The first step is to filter out stocks that do not meet our selection criteria.  Filters include liquidity and volatility, as well as purging unsuitable groups.  Kerry shows his filtering process, which delivers a list from which he hand-picks stocks for his Personal Basket.

Using Strategy Scans

In his Password class on Filtering Kerry showed how to create a “personal basket” of trading candidates.  Here he shows how to look for potential trades in that basket.

Scans are designed to lead us to those stocks that appear to have our favorite trade setups.  They are not intended to find specific trades – they streamline our search process.  Kerry demonstrates various ways to scan for attractive trade setups.  He shows the scans he uses to find the setups he prefers to trade.

How to Exit Trades

Exiting trades is crucial to your success, but there is no perfect “one size fits all” exit.  Perfect exits can be found only on historic charts.  In reality, a good workmanlike exit is linked to your overall trade strategy. No one should enter a trade without a clear exit plan. There are several ways to set up exit points.

Kerry shows how to set exit rules to match your trade plans and goals.  He walks you thru the process of managing exits based on styles of trading. Exiting a trade is not about getting out at the perfect spot – it is based on specific criteria in tune with your style of trading.

Handling Quarterly Earnings Reports

Earnings reports for stocks listed in the US are released every three months.  Those eagerly awaited reports can and often do move stocks.  In this Password class Alex shows how he handled a resent earnings period and shares its lessons.  He makes suggestions on handling earnings reports for swing trades and long-term investments.  Alex also shows how some traders aim to profit from earnings-driven moves.
